Job Overview
This position supports the overall maintenance and operations of the property by performing basic repairs, routine preventative maintenance, floor care, and responding to guest requests. It plays an essential role in maintaining a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for all guests and team members.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance throughout the property (painting, carpet/floor cleaning, etc.) following maintenance schedules.
- Repair and program hotel electronic lock system.
- Assist with HVAC systems checks and basic troubleshooting.
- Assist with guest requests and maintenance issues.
- Perform scheduled inspections of safety systems (fire extinguishers, exit lighting, etc).
- Track and log maintenance activities and completed work orders in property management system.
- Follow regulations on all equipment operations and report any unsafe conditions to the Chief Engineer.
- Complete safety training and certifications as required.
- Maintain engineering/maintenance storage areas, ensuring they are clean, organized, and safe.
- Maintain indoor pool and spa.
- Perform general grounds upkeep (signage, trash, parking lot, etc.).
- Clean and maintain hotel floors as assigned.
- Follow procedures for emergency situations.
- Assist in other hotel areas as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, Duties, and Abilities
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Familiarity with plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Time management and prioritization skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Guest service skills and comfort engaging with colleagues and guests.
- Basic computational skills.
- Knowledge of maintenance tools, equipment, and building systems.
- Ability to work independently and in a team.
- Awareness of OSHA safety regulations.
- Knowledge of applicable laws, codes, and regulations.
- Proficiency with computers and software such as word processing and spreadsheets.
Physical Demands
- Work environment includes indoor and outdoor settings with exposure to noise, dust, fumes, and weather conditions.
- Extensive mobility required, up to 8 hours at a time.
- Ability to handle tools and machinery requiring fine motor skills.
- Ability to climb ladders, lift up to 50 pounds, and maneuver heavy objects.
Requirements
Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training preferred.
Varying schedules may be required based on hotel needs. Attendance at training sessions is mandatory. All employees must comply with hotel rules and regulations. This is an at-will employment position.
