Job summary

Concord Hospitality Enterprises seeks a facilities maintenance associate in Austin, Texas to maintain guest rooms and public spaces at our hotels, ensuring safety and high standards of cleanliness. You will perform preventative maintenance, respond to repairs, and assist with routine operations while delivering friendly service to guests and collaborating with team members.

Responsibilities

• Follow company and department safety and security policies to ensure a clean, safe environment.
• Report work related accidents or injuries immediately to supervisor.
• Use proper equipment, wear PPE, and follow correct lifting procedures to avoid injury.
• Follow Hazardous Material Management Program procedures for chemicals and other materials.
• Identify and correct unsafe procedures or conditions and report to management.
• Operate and store tools, equipment and machines safely.
• Complete appropriate safety training and certifications.
• Follow procedures for emergencies (evacuations, medical, disasters).
• Protect guest and coworker privacy and security.
• Follow company and department policies and procedures.
• Maintain confidentiality of proprietary materials and information.
• Protect company assets per policies.
• Ensure uniforms, nametags, and appearance meet policy.
• Address guests’ service needs in a professional and timely manner.
• Support coworkers and treat them with dignity and respect.
• Develop positive working relationships with other employees and departments.
• Comply with quality assurance standards.
• Perform physical tasks (lift up to 50 pounds) as needed.
• Perform preventative maintenance on hotel equipment and minor repairs.
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance in guest rooms and spaces.
• Maintain, repair, and clean guest rooms and public areas per procedures.
• Report serious maintenance problems or safety hazards immediately.
• Perform other reasonable duties as requested by manager.

Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Follow company and department safety and security policies and procedures to ensure a clean, safe, and secure environment.
• Report work related accidents, or other injuries immediately upon occurrence to manager/supervisor.
• Use proper equipment, wear appropriate personal protective clothing, and employ correct lifting procedures, as necessary, to avoid injury.
• Follow Hazardous Material Management Program procedures for handling and disposing of chemicals, fertilizer, pesticides, blood borne pathogens, etc., including using Material Safety Data Sheets.
• Identify and correct unsafe work procedures or conditions and/or report them to management and security/safety personnel.
• Follow policies and procedures for the safe operation and storage of tools, equipment, and machines.
• Complete appropriate safety training and certifications to perform work tasks.
• Follow property specific procedures for handling emergency situations (e.g., evacuations, medical emergencies, natural disasters).
• Protect the privacy and security of guests and coworkers.
• Follow company and department policies and procedures.
• Maintain confidentiality of proprietary materials and information.
• Protect company tools, equipment, machines, and other assets in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Ensure uniform, nametags, and personal appearance are clean, hygienic, professional and in compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Address guests’ service needs in a professional, positive, and timely manner.
• Support all co-workers and treat them with dignity and respect.
• Develop and maintain positive and productive working relationships with other employees and departments.
• Comply with quality assurance expectations and standards.
• Perform physical tasks such as reaching over head or below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling and stooping. Must be able to move, lift, pull, carry, or push objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance.
• Perform preventative maintenance on hotel equipment as required and miscellaneous minor repairs such as tightening loose toilet seats, changing light bulbs, and patching holes in walls.
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance in guest rooms, meeting rooms, and/or public spaces as required, including flipping mattresses, vacuuming behind and underneath furniture, deep cleaning carpet, touch-up painting, dusting, cleaning bathrooms, ensure that all appliances are present in the room and in working order, cleaning and replacing light fixtures, and inspecting grout/caulking.
• Maintain, repair, and clean all guest rooms, meeting rooms, and/or public spaces in accordance with the property room preventative maintenance procedures and standard guidelines.
• Report any serious maintenance problems, unusual findings, or safety hazards immediately to the manager/supervisor.
• Perform Other Reasonable Job Duties As Requested By Manager.
