Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking a Night Shift Maintenance Technician to perform preventive maintenance on doors and hospital equipment at 600 Main Street, Cambridge. You will respond to emergency calls, assist with installations, and ensure compliance with ICRA and ILSM guidelines.

The role requires 3–5 years of related experience and a High School Diploma or equivalent. NFPA Hot Work certification is preferred, and the schedule is 6pm–6am, with 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine preventive maintenance on automatic doors, roll-up doors, and fire doors.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance on laundry chutes.
• Assist Automatic Door Technician with the installation of new automatic doors.
• Repair various hospital equipment: kitchen equipment, pallet jacks, and SPD carts.
• Responds to emergency calls for the memios trash and linen system.
• Ensure all work is completed within ICRA & ILSM guidelines.
• May be required to assist other trades as needed.
• Responsible for snow removal as needed.

Job Summary

Performs routine preventive maintenance (PM) on operating mechanical equipment throughout the Hospital. Provides information for the P.M. program. Responds to emergency calls. Responsible for snow removal as needed.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Knowledge of mechanics, tool usage, and pneumatics.
• Physical ability to climb stairs and ladders and walk almost constantly. Occasionally required to work in confined areas.
• Interpersonal skills to exchange information with other shop’s personnel about work needed, to provide on-the-job training and to conduct formal skill-building training classes.
• NFPA Hot Work Certification required.

Additional Job Details

Massachusetts Second-Class Fireman License preferred or consideration given to licensed tradespersons with relevant mechanical, HVAC, electrical, boiler, or plant operations experience who would be willing to obtain the required special operating license.
