Job description

This position is responsible for assisting in the maintenance and upkeep of the facility. The Maintenance Technician assists in routine and preventative maintenance of all equipment within the facility, as well as general cleaning and upkeep of the facility itself. The ideal candidate is well-rounded, with some exposure to electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems, as well as general facility maintenance. You are also a team player — driven by pride in your work and fostering positive relationships with coworkers.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Perform all duties safely, following company work rules and policies.
2. Perform minor repairs in building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and painting, along with troubleshooting and preventative maintenance.
3. Assist with construction, routine, preventative, and breakdown maintenance on all equipment in the facility.
4. Maintain inventory of repair equipment and supplies.
5. Complete work orders as assigned.
6. Develop extensive knowledge of equipment and systems within the facility, including plumbing, electrical, irrigation, HVAC, and security systems.
7. Ensure compliance with all company policies and required training (Safety, Quality, Regulations, etc.).
8. Perform other maintenance duties as needed.
9. Contribute to a positive work environment through a proactive attitude and self-motivation.
10. Research and evaluate new maintenance methods to meet or exceed goals, adapting techniques based on applicable laws and regulations.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum of 2 years' experience in maintenance or a similar role (preferred).
• Knowledge of HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical work, and general construction/carpentry.
• Proficient with hand and power tools.
• Highly motivated, self-directed, innovative, and able to work independently or within a team, demonstrating good judgment and resourcefulness.
• Ability to thrive in a demanding, fast-paced, start-up environment.
• Understanding and compliance with all relevant rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Must be at least 21 years old and approved by the state regulating agency to receive a cannabis agent badge.
• Physical ability to perform grasping, talking, hearing, climbing, reaching, squatting, kneeling, crawling, and repetitive motions.
• Ability to work on your feet and lift/carry up to 50 pounds (100 pounds with assistance) safely.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions after training.
• Effective communication skills.
• Full knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and requirements to maintain 100% compliance, including staying current with any legal updates.
• Compliance with all regulatory requirements for working in the cannabis industry.
• Other duties as assigned.
