Job summary

Ultipro in Texas Odessa is seeking a Prev Maint Field Tech (R) on a rotational schedule (e.g., 14 days on, 7 days off). The role requires traveling to assigned work locations and lodging for the 14-day period, and performing preventative maintenance tasks with minimal supervision.

You will remove/install parts, test assemblies, complete paperwork, access various databases, and provide repair recommendations in both field and shop.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 years related experience or training.
  • General knowledge of diesel or gas engines, electrical, electronic, hydraulic, mechanical, pneumatic systems and components.
  • Clean driving record and CDL or ability to obtain the CDL within 60 days of employment; must be at least 21 to operate field vehicle.
  • General knowledge of basic hand tools, air tools, precision measuring tools and instruments, laptops, diagnostic software and cranes and rigging equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Knowledge of database software, internet software, manufacturing software and order processing systems.
  • The ability to provide accurate quotes and pricing estimates to the customer.
  • May be required to complete a DOT physical.
  • Successfully complete Work Steps assessment.

Job description

The Prev Maint Field Tech (R) is designated as a “Rotational” position that usually works a designated rotating schedule, usually in patterns such as 14 days “on,” and 7 days “off” work. The person must travel to and lodge at the assigned work location for the duration of the 14-day work assignment. The Preventative Maintenance Field Technician is responsible for completing assigned jobs and tasks per manager, which includes removing and installing parts with minimal supervision.

  • General knowledge of diesel or gas engines, electrical, electronic, hydraulic, mechanical, pneumatic systems and components.
  • Clean driving record and CDL or ability to obtain the CDL within 60 days of employment, must be at least 21 to be assigned and operate field vehicle.
  • General knowledge of basic hand tools, air tools, precision measuring tools and instruments, laptops, diagnostic software and cranes and rigging equipment.
