Job summary

Danner Corporation in Auburn, WA, is seeking a Preventative Maintenance Assistant Technician to keep production equipment running safely and efficiently. You will perform inspections, basic troubleshooting, and routine maintenance to minimize downtime and extend asset life, while maintaining accurate records and following safety procedures.

Strong mechanical aptitude and teamwork are essential, with responsibilities including driving between plants and coordinating with the Facilities Manager.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience with machinery/automotive equipment using basic hand tools.
  • Familiarity with multiple skilled trades (electrical, plumbing, machining) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Drive company vehicle between plants to perform tasks.
  • Inspect industrial equipment for proper operation.
  • Clean CNC machines, dust collectors, vents, pumps and related machinery.
  • Change oil, hydraulic fluids, belts, and grease fittings.
  • Troubleshoot equipment using schematics or manuals.
  • Document and report equipment malfunction and safety concerns.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and data entry.

JOBSUMMARY

The Preventative Maintenance Assistant Technicianis responsible for the general maintenance of production equipment, machinery and facilities by performing scheduled inspections and basic troubleshooting and repair to keep operations running safely, reliably, and efficiently, helping to minimize downtime, extend asset life, and support continuous optimal performance. The Preventative Maintenance Assistant Technician also keeps accurate maintenance records, follows established safety procedures, and helps to diagnose and resolve equipment and facility-related issues.

  • Occasionally required to lift and carry, push or pull up to 50 pounds without restriction; 50+ pounds with assistance
  • Occasionally required to work on elevated platforms (e.g., ladders, scissor lifts)
  • Occasionally required to work in uncomfortable environments (e.g., dusty, hot, wet) for extended periods of time
  • Close vision, color, peripheral, depth perception and the ability to focus
  • Hearing level within normal/average range

  • Ability to communicate effectively in the English language
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to take direction and work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to operate hand and power tools common to the building maintenance trade
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment including forklifts, scissor lifts, and pallet jacks
  • Possess a willingness to follow safety procedures at all times, respecting safety warning signs
  • Possess a basic understanding of manufacturing safety regulations
  • Ability to read and follow operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
  • Ability to work occasional overtime based on company needs
  • Possess general knowledge of building maintenance trades
  • Familiarity of Material Safety Data Sheets and proper chemical handling
ESSENTIALDUTIESANDRESPONSIBILITIES
Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Drive company vehicle between plants to perform tasks assigned
  • Inspect industrial equipment for proper operation
  • Clean CNC machines, dust collectors, vents, vacuum pumps, air compressors and other related machinery
  • Change oil, hydraulic fluids, and belts, and grease zerk fittings
  • Service, clean, or replace air filters accordingly
  • Troubleshoot equipment using schematics, wiring diagrams or technical manuals
  • Perform initial diagnostics of equipment failure and make necessary adjustments, repairs, or escalate issues accordingly
  • Document and report equipment malfunction and safety concerns
  • Manage coordination’s of equipment downtime with stakeholders
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records; enter data onto spreadsheets and company database
  • Pick up tools and supplies at local vendors as requested
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
  • Other duties as assigned
