Thompson Concrete is seeking an experienced Certified Payroll & Prevailing Wage Coordinator to ensure compliance across ongoing projects in Ohio. You will interpret wage requirements, administer certified payroll reporting, review records, and collaborate with payroll, accounting, project teams, customers, and contractors to resolve compliance issues.

Responsibilities

• Review determinations to identify fringe benefits, overtime, and reporting requirements for all prevailing wage employees.
• Interpret regulations pertaining to prevailing wage at federal, state, and local levels.
• Prepare, review, and submit accurate payroll reports and compliance statements.
• Verify classifications, hours, rates, fringe benefits, deductions, overtime, and project allocations.
• Review subcontractor payrolls and supporting labor records, identify discrepancies, and maintain compliance files.
• Coordinate with payroll, accounting, project managers, subcontractors, customers, and contractors to resolve compliance questions.
• Maintain prevailing wage rates, project requirements, payroll submissions, and audit-ready documentation.
• Monitor contract changes and communicate impacts to affected teams.
• Support agency by retrieving records and explaining calculations and findings.
• Develop and improve procedures that promote compliance across active projects.

Certified Payroll & Prevailing Wage Coordinator

• Employment type: Full-time
• Location: Carroll, Ohio
• Reports to: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
• Schedule: Standard business hours, with flexibility as needed to meet payroll, project, and reporting deadlines.
• Work environment: Office-based collaboration with payroll, accounting, project teams, and external partners.

Position Summary

Thompson Concrete is seeking an experienced Certified Payroll & Prevailing Wage Coordinator to assist us with maintaining compliance during ongoing construction projects. This position will interpret federal, state, and local wage requirements; administer certified payroll reporting; review internal records; and partner with payroll, accounting, project management, customers, and contractors to resolve compliance issues.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Review determinations to identify applicable fringe benefits, overtime, and reporting requirements for all prevailing wage employees.
• Interpret federal, state, and local regulations that pertain to prevailing wage.
• Prepare, review, and submit accurate payroll reports and compliance statements.
• Verify employee classifications, hours, base rates, fringe benefits, deductions, overtime, and project allocations against the applicable wage determination.
• Review subcontractor certified payrolls and supporting labor records; identify discrepancies, obtain corrections, and maintain complete compliance files.
• Coordinate with payroll, accounting, project managers, subcontractors, customers, and contractors to gather information and resolve compliance questions.
• Maintain prevailing wage rates, project requirements, payroll submissions, correspondence, approvals, and audit-ready supporting documentation.
• Monitor contract changes and communicate their impact to affected teams.
• Support agency by retrieving records and explaining calculations and findings.
• Develop and improve procedures that promote compliance across active projects.

Required Qualifications

• Prior hands-on prevailing wage and certified payroll experience.
• Working knowledge of state & local prevailing wage requirements.
• Experience reviewing wage determinations, employee classifications, fringe benefits, overtime, deductions, and certified payroll documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience working in the construction or trades industry.
• Knowledge of LCPtracker, Elation, e-Builder, or eMars platforms.
• Prior experience responding to agency and/or customer audits.
