Job summary

Commonwealth of Kentucky is seeking a Pretrial Services Specialist-SHIFT for the Administrative Office of the Courts, based in Jefferson County, Louisville. The role reviews arrests to determine pretrial release eligibility, conducts interviews, and monitors defendants under supervision, including court-related reporting and data entry.

The position requires an Associates Degree and at least two years of criminal justice experience, with FBI clearance and NCIC certification within 60 days.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree required.
• At least two years’ experience in criminal justice, judicial or legal systems.

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial interview of defendant within 24 hours of jail booking.
• Review case history and risk assessment scores for pretrial release eligibility.
• Explain pretrial release options with supervision or diversion.
• Supervise defendants on Monitored Release and oversee drug testing.
• Enter data into the PRIM System and prepare incident reports.
