Job summary

Vigo County is seeking a Screening Analyst for the Court Administration's Pretrial Services Division. You will assess arrested individuals, conduct risk assessments, and make recommendations to the Court regarding release and supervision levels.

The role involves interviewing participants, maintaining records, and preparing release documents as required. Occasional travel and flexible hours may be needed to support court operations.

Qualifications

• Baccalaureate Degree in criminal justice, social service, psychology or related area.
• Knowledge of evidence-based principles and practices.
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing and speech with diverse stakeholders.
• Familiarity with criminal justice processes and pretrial procedures.
• Desirable certifications/training related to offender assessments or de-escalation.

Responsibilities

• Assess eligibility and appropriateness of individuals for pretrial program participation.
• Conduct risk assessments and investigations to inform release decisions.
• Prepare release documents and explain conditions to defendants and attorneys.
• Monitor individuals and provide written summaries to the Court before initial hearings.
• Assist with data collection, reporting, and program evaluation.
