New York City Criminal Justice Agency (CJA) in Brooklyn, NY, is hiring Pretrial Associates to interview arrestees in Central Booking and assist with bail release decisions. This role supports the court process and may require weekend shifts, with 100% in-person work.

The PTA will verify information, document responses in the agency database, determine release recommendations, monitor arraignment outcomes, and collaborate with NYPD, DOC, and court staff to facilitate pretrial procedures.

Formación

• High school diploma or GED required with at least 1 year of relevant work experience.
• College background in criminal justice or related field preferred.
• Associates degree or higher is a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Interview recently arrested individuals in Central Booking across boroughs.
• Verify information by phone (address, employment, sureties).
• Explain bail procedures and assist with bail payments.
• Record responses in the agency database and determine release recommendations.
• Monitor arraignment outcomes and assist with bail expediting programs.
