Dept Behavioral Health/Develop at Central State Hospital in Petersburg, Virginia, seeks an Assistant Forensic Coordinator (Pretrial) Psychologist to lead the development and oversight of competency restoration services and related therapeutic programming for pretrial patients.

The role provides training and consultation to staff, conducts forensic evaluations, and helps ensure all activities align with legally required court orders, while promoting least restrictive care and cultural competence.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology from an accredited program.
• Licensed or license-eligible as a Clinical Psychologist in Virginia.
• Completion of ILPPP Basic Forensic Evaluation Training or ability to obtain upon hire.
• Demonstrated experience in clinical supervision, forensic evaluation, or treatment within a forensic setting.

Responsibilities

• Lead development, implementation, and oversight of competency restoration services and therapeutic programming for pre-trial patients.
• Provide critical training and consultation to staff and treatment teams to align clinical practices with legal needs.
• Conduct forensic evaluations as assigned and support treatment teams through the evaluation process.
• Contribute to patient-flow meetings and ensure evaluations and treatment are under legally sufficient court orders.
• Model professionalism, support least restrictive interventions, and maintain cultural competence.
