Job summary

Dicastal North America Inc. is seeking a Pretreatment Technician to operate the pretreatment line, perform chemical analyses, and monitor chemical dosing for liquid paint treatment systems.

The role requires strict safety adherence when handling hazardous materials and close attention to testing results. The ideal candidate has an associates or bachelor’s degree and 2–3 years of hands-on chemical testing experience, with strong mechanical aptitude.

Qualifications

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 2-3 Years’ experience in working with chemicals and testing in a lab.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude skills.
  • Manufacturing or paint experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of local, state and federal environmental regulations helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Follows safety rules 100% of the time.
  • Contributes to a safe work environment by following housekeeping guidelines.
  • Follows instructions and works to meet daily job assignments and KPI’s.
  • Strictly follow the instructions during operations, as well as maintenance of the equipment.
  • Maintains a productive working environment through communication and teamwork.
  • Conduct daily detection testing, record results and make appropriate adjustments
  • Fill and maintain all chemical tank levels, with the appropriate chemicals
  • Weekly calibration for the Pretreatment conductivity meters
  • Maintain and clean tank filter screens
  • Conduct scheduled operator PMs and coordinate maintenance repairs
  • Conduct or assist in annual cleaning of pretreatment system
  • Primary contact concerning chemicals used in area
  • Work with chemical supplier on product testing and maintaining pretreatment supplies
  • Complete all required paperwork neatly and in a timely manner
  • Other duties as assigned or designated

Reports to: Production Team Leader Date: February 2021

Summary

The Pretreatment Technician is responsible for chemical analysis of water, operating the Pretreatment Line and monitoring and adjusting chemicals in the liquid paint treatment system. The technician is required to work safely with hazardous materials.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
