Job summary

ECI Group in Deer Park, TX seeks an Inspector – Pressure Equipment Integrity for an anticipated 7-month contract starting September 1. You will perform field-based inspection and integrity oversight to ensure codes, specs and asset integrity requirements are met safely and right-first-time.

Qualifications

  • Technical foundation in mechanical/piping/inspection.
  • Familiarity with PEI practices and codes (ASME, API, AWS).
  • Experience with welding, NDT, pressure testing and traceability.
  • Strong field presence and communication.

Responsibilities

  • Execute inspection activities per ITPs for piping, static equipment, pressure vessels, tanks, valves and supports.
  • Witness and verify NDT/PWHT tests, pressure/leak tests and material traceability.
  • Perform field surveillance of contractors for quality and compliance with drawings.
  • Verify PEI deliverables: MDRs, test packs, as-builts, turnover dossiers.
  • Participate in walk-downs, completion, systemization, punch management and commissioning readiness.
  • Promote HSSE: PTW/LOTO, hazard ID, stop-work authority and safe execution.
  • Maintain accurate inspection records and turnover packs for audit readiness.
  • Coordinate with Construction, QA/QC, Welding, NDT, Commissioning and Operations.

Inspector – Pressure Equipment Integrity

Deer Park, TX – Contract role for an anticipated 7‑month duration, start date September 1. Must be a US citizen or permanent US resident.

About the Role

Provide field‑based inspection and integrity oversight for PEI activities on projects to ensure construction, installation, testing, and turnover meet applicable codes, specifications, and asset integrity requirements – delivered safely, compliant, and right‑first‑time.

Contract Details
  • Location: Deer Park, TX
  • Duration: 7 months (anticipated)

  • Contract Type: Contract
  • Security Clearance: Level 4 or above mandatory
Responsibilities
  • Execute inspection activities per ITPs: piping, static equipment, pressure vessels, tanks, valves and associated supports/anchors
  • Witness and verify NDT, PWHT, pressure/leak tests, material traceability and welding documentation
  • Perform field surveillance of contractors to confirm work quality, workmanship, and compliance with drawings/specs
  • Verify PEI deliverables: MDRs, test packs, redlines/as‑builts, certificates and turnover dossiers
  • Participate in walk‑downs, mechanical completion, systemization, punch management and commissioning readiness
  • Promote HSSE: PTW/LOTO adherence, hazard identification, stop‑work authority and safe execution
  • Quality & compliance: inspection findings must be accurate, timely, and aligned to code/project requirements
  • Hold‑point management: required witness points completed and documented with clear acceptance criteria
  • NCR/punch discipline: issues raised early, tracked to closure, and verified before handover
  • Documentation integrity: complete, audit‑ready inspection records, traceability and turnover packs
  • Stakeholder coordination: effective interface with Construction, QA/QC, Welding, NDT, Commissioning and Operations
  • Continuous improvement: identify repeated issues, share lessons learned, improve ITP/field execution
Qualifications
  • Technical foundation in mechanical/piping/inspection (degree, diploma, or trade background with relevant experience).
  • Working knowledge of PEI practices and common codes/standards such as ASME, API, AWS and local regulatory requirements.
  • Familiarity with welding, NDT methods, pressure testing, material certification/traceability and test pack management.
  • Strong field presence: attention to detail, assertive but collaborative communication, sound judgment.
  • Competent in PTW/LOTO and construction HSSE requirements; willing to intervene/stop unsafe work.
  • Strong documentation skills and comfort with digital tools (inspection reports, Excel/SharePoint, CMMS/turnover systems).
Preferred
  • 2+ years experience in relevant PEI field.
