Job summary

Challenge Manufacturing is seeking a Team Leader for the 1st shift (6am–2pm) at our Walker, MI plant. You will facilitate department work, ensure policy, procedure and process adherence, and help teams meet safety, quality, delivery, cost and morale goals.

You will train team members, verify loading/unloading, manage schedules, support continuous improvement projects, and ensure proper labeling and FIFO. Must be 18+, HS Diploma or GED preferred, able to stand 8–10 hours and operate a PC/scanner.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English to safely perform duties.
• Standing for 8–10 hours/day with or without accommodations.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate department work activities and ensure policy and process adherence.
• Escalate issues to involve appropriate resources when abnormalities occur.
• Train team members on processes and certify at each workstation.
• Oversee loading/unloading, verify counts, and inspect packaging.
• Monitor inbound/outbound truck schedules and enforce FIFO.
• Support continuous improvement projects and safe operation of equipment.
