Job Summary

The Pressroom Supervisor has primary responsibility of directing the daily activities of the Press Room. These activities include continuing process improvement to achieve the highest level of quality and productivity.

Essential Job Functions

• Meet the cost objectives provided by management.
• Analyze and implement improvements to the printing processes.
• Work with suppliers to improve the quality of raw materials and seek alternative raw material suppliers.
• Work closely with the Pre-press Manager on plate quality as well as color curves and to ensure that the work received is of the highest quality.
• Develop sound procedures for all printing processes.
• Operate and maintain specific print equipment.
• Ensure that all procedures are being followed and requiring accountability for work performed.
• Maintain proper inventory and staffing levels as well as track absenteeism and timekeeping.
• Determine and implement methods to ensure consistent color and quality from job to job.
• Develop and implement plans to increase productivity in the printing department.
• Gain knowledge of the production scheduling process and assume control of scheduling jobs for the printing department as to meet customer demands.
• Perform other duties as required by management.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Manages printing personnel up to 15 employees. May have one or more Leads as direct reports.
