Job summary

Gannett Publishing Services/USA TODAY CO in Rockaway, NJ is seeking a Full-Time Pressroom Platemaker to support daily newspaper production on double-wide presses. You will operate and maintain CTP systems, monitor page files, verify readiness, and address production issues to ensure timely plating and delivery.

Requires a high school diploma and experience in printing or related production environments, with strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work evenings/nights and weekends as schedule

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience in web offset printing, prepress, or newspaper production is preferred.
• Ability to monitor multiple systems with attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills to coordinate with Editorial Operations and production centers.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, and calibrate CTP systems and plate processors.
• Monitor page files and workflows to meet deadlines.
• Verify page completeness and production readiness prior to plating.
• Communicate issues with Editorial Operations and production facilities.
• Respond to workflow alerts and troubleshoot file delivery problems.
• Maintain records of production activity and inventory levels.
• Adhere to safety, environmental, and quality standards.
