Job summary

Smyth-Bedford in Bedford, VA is seeking a reliable Production Support associate to help run our presses and support daily label production. This is a full-time, on-site role with day shift hours from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM on a rotating schedule.

You’ll assist with setup, operation, changeovers, and pressroom documentation while upholding safety and quality standards. No prior training? We will train you and provide a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Attention to detail and mechanical aptitude required.
• Preferred: experience with measurements and calculations.
• A plus: knowledge of Lean Manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Setup, operation, changeover, and maintenance of the press with focus on quality and safety.
• Prepare and maintain documentation for the pressroom.
• Ensure the press is stocked with materials and operates properly as part of a team.
• Observe safety regulations and keep the work area clean and organized.
• Follow standard work procedures and troubleshoot equipment as needed.

Key Responsibilities forProduction Supportinclude:

• Efficient support with setup, operation, changeover, and maintenance of the press, focusing on meeting specifications in product quality, safety, and effective management of material and product waste
• Preparing and maintaining appropriate documentation for the pressroom
• Contributing to a team effort, collectively ensuring the press is stocked with all necessary materials and operating properly to enable focus on the art of producing the labels
• Observing company work rules and safety regulations
• Maintaining a clean and organized work area and pressroom

• Ability to follow standard work procedures, think through mechanical aspects of equipment operations, make fact-based decisions, troubleshoot, and problem-solve areas of opportunity to keep the workflow running smoothly and efficiently
