Job summary

Fisher Dynamics in Sterling Heights, MI, is seeking a Press Operator on 2nd shift to load, set up, and operate coil-fed progressive stamping presses to produce quality automotive seating components.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of press experience, can follow procedures, pay close attention to detail, troubleshoot presses, and communicate effectively with all levels. A hi-lo permit and experience with overhead cranes, hand tools, and gauges are preferred.

Qualifications

• Three to Five years’ experience running coil fed progressive presses preferred
• Must be able to operate stamping press, use hand tools, overhead crane and gauges
• Problem solving and troubleshooting using creativity and past practice
• Communication skills to communicate and interact with all levels of employees
• Ability to work effectively with people
• Computer skills and math skills sufficient to perform department related tasks are required

Responsibilities

• Operate coil fed stamping presses, and use hand tools, metrology equipment, cranes, and plasma cutters
• Check parts and document results to verify and record quality
• Perform troubleshooting activities to presses
• Perform basic housekeeping to keep area clean and safe, including scrap containers
• Park parts and use hi-lo to move material
• Various other duties as required by the department

Fisher Dynamics is currently seeking a Press Operator on 2nd shift for our Sterling Heights, MI facility. The position is responsible for loading, setting up, and operating stamping presses to run production and produce quality output. The department is structured as a formal team, and requires the ability to work within the team.

Experience

Job requires very frequent visual effort and concentration, and the ability to move throughout the plant. The ability to lift 40 pounds is required.
