Job summary

Smurfit Westrock is seeking a Press Operator to produce Pixies, Stik-Stakes, and support the Sanki U.V. Letterpress. You will set up, run, and optimize presses, monitor quality, and help train other operators.

The role requires basic math, attention to detail, and teamwork, with overtime as needed. Medical benefits, retirement plan, and paid time off are offered. Drug screening may be required after a conditional offer.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or GED.
• One-year certificate from a college or technical school preferred.
• Six months’ related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read a limited number of words and numbers; comprehend simple instructions.
• Good interpersonal communication skills and ability to read/interpret manuals.
• Willing to work overtime and maintain attendance.
• Able to perform essential functions with/without accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate printing press to produce Pixies and Stik-Stakes.
• Track inventory and order tooling as needed.
• Maximize run speeds by identifying constraints and assisting operators.
• Schedule machine priority and oversee Press-Helper tasks.
• Train and mentor new and experienced operators.
• Ensure safety with guarding, LOTO, and safe practices.
• Check product quality including color, print defects, and barcodes.
• Perform maintenance and complete paperwork (time-sheets, tickets).
• Maintain lean standards and clean organized work area.
• Oversee department teamwork and participate in meetings.
