Job summary

Mill Rock Packaging in Salt Lake City seeks a Press Operator II to support the 1st Press Operator with make-ready, operation, and maintenance of the printing press. You will work in a team on a fast-paced production line and help ensure high-quality output.

Qualifications

• Ability to work as part of a press team and support the main operator.
• Strong attention to detail to ensure print quality.
• Basic computer skills to run simple job-related software.
• Experience operating sheet-fed press equipment and basic offset press functions.
• Capability to perform routine maintenance and minor repairs under guidance.

Responsibilities

• Insert packing sheets on plate cylinder to build up printing height.
• Fasten reinforcing bars to offset blankets and install plates on press cylinders.
• Make adjustments to achieve the required printing pressure.
• Adjust press parts like feeder, delivery, suction grippers, guides and cams.
• Assist in changing worn rollers and adjusting pressure between rollers.
• Wash blankets and clean ink systems and fountains on the press.
• Assist Press Operator with color and register adjustments prior to runs.
