Press Operator I

Prior printing or related experience is required.

Starting hourly salary of up to $17-$19 based on experience.

The Press Operator II position involves learning and performing printing-related tasks, including but not limited to:

1. Newsprint reel setup and operation
2. Newsprint staging
3. Roll preparation
4. Plate processing
5. Placing printing plates
6. Basic ink setting
7. Equipment maintenance
8. Specified reporting

The main goal is to support efficient press operations to ensure on-time production, product quality, low waste, and safety. The role works as part of a press crew to coordinate during a shift.

Must be reliable, punctual, and ready to work.

Requirements:

This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Experience in web offset printing is preferred, but any production experience may be helpful. Mechanical skills and familiarity with computers are also preferred. Candidates should be adaptable, able to prioritize, multitask, stay flexible, and interact patiently with others.

You must be able to lift/carry up to 50-60 pounds and push/pull up to 2000 pounds (rolls of paper). The role involves standing for long periods, climbing stairs, and working in tight areas. Bending, kneeling, crouching, and crawling may be required. Color vision is necessary.

Availability to work night shifts, weekends, and holidays on a rotating schedule is essential.

Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Related Experience: Previous machine operation or maintenance experience is preferred.
