Job summary

La-Z-Boy Incorporated in Missouri is seeking a Metal Fabricator to assemble quality metal components for furniture in a production environment. You will operate presses, load dies, set up machines, inspect parts and maintain equipment to meet our quality standards.

This role requires basic reading, writing, math, ability to lift 50 lbs, reading print specs, and using measuring tools. A PIV license is required; bilingual candidates are preferred.

Qualifications

• Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate metal material according to quality requirements.
• Operate press and perform machine setup to maximize yields.
• Load dies and adjust machines for each job.
• Lubricate moving machine parts and maintain equipment.
• Inspect finished work to ensure defects meet standards.
• Follow health and safety standards and keep work area clean.

Job Summary:

This position works independently or within a team to assemble quality fabricate metal components for furniture to work order specifications in an incentives base manufacturing environment.

Job Description:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties as assigned):

• Fabricate metal material according to La-Z-Boy quality requirements.
• Operate press, machine maintenance to maximize program yields.
• Load die and set up the machine, adjusting for each job.
• Keep all moving parts of machine lubricated.
• Operate forklift or pallet jack to relocate materials, supplies, and parts as needed.
• Inspect work visually for defects according to our quality standards
• Proper cleaning and maintenance of equipment
• Ability to operate equipment in a safe, accurate and efficient manner.
• Rework non-conforming parts as necessary.
• Control quality and waste.
• Demonstrates teamwork and motivation for job requirements.
• Follow health and safety standards.
• Maintain a clean work area.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Equivalent combination of education and experience to perform the above duties
• Basic reading, writing and math skills
• Ability to read complex print specifications
• Use and understand measuring tools (micrometer, calipers, etc.)
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Basic computer skills
• Obtain PIV license
• Achieve performance standards
• Excellent attendance; 3 points or less.
• No safety written warnings
