RRD is looking for an energetic, and highly motivated team member to join our team of Press Operators at our Elk Grove Village facility.
Operate web printing press to print quality production, maintain quality of product, lead and direct press crew, maintain press, and work on other operation duties as directed by the supervisors.
Set up, adjust, operate, and maintain a Litho Press, In-line double web press, Harris M10, and a mini web 6 color web printing press or multi-color offset press to print single-color, two-color, and/or multi-color work, including large solids, screen tints, line and halftones with critical color values and registration requirements ranging from hairline to critical.
Review job specifications to determine the press setup according to the imposition of the run (sheet-wise or work and turn).
Perform all make-ready tasks associated with the type of press operated such as hanging plates or installing cylinders, examine plates/cylinders for imperfections, check for correct positioning of images, prepping blankets, adjusting tension and register, etc.
Makes necessary color corrections and/or press adjustments prior to production run to meet and maintain the quality specifications of the work.
Clean, lubricate, and maintain the press, making minor repairs and replacing worn or broken parts as required.
Perform periodic maintenance as recommended by the manufacturer.
Act as a leader in providing and promoting a safe and injury-free work environment.
Responsible for all aspects of the operation of the press and press crew.
Responsible for overall quality of the printed product including color reproduction, product specifications, imaging quality, and postal specifications.
Determine when the product is suitable for saving.
Produce a sample-quality product.
Provide accurate documentation of time, materials, impressions, waste, and run speeds.
Communicate effectively with other crews and departments, scheduling, prepress, maintenance.
Coordinate make-ready process by reviewing job information, establishing a make-ready plan, and assigning responsibilities to crew members.
Maintain a Preventive Maintenance Program for the press, and use the "Request For Action" system to notify the maintenance department of issues with the equipment.
Other duties as assigned.
Shifts: 7pm - 7am
Sign On Bonus $1000 (distributed in monthly payments after meeting job requirements)
Shift Premium: $3.00

Pay Range: $26.80 to $38.15 per hour, varies based on education, skills, experience, performance, shift, and location. Compensation may include sign-on bonus, overtime, shift differentials, call-in, and standby pay.
