Press Operator 2 - Nights $1000 Sign On Bonus

RRD is looking for an energetic and highly motivated team member to join our team of Press Operators at our Elk Grove Village facility.

Responsibilities include:

1. Operate web printing press to print quality production, maintain quality of product, lead and direct press crew, maintain press, and work on other operation duties as directed by the supervisors.
2. Set up, adjust, operate, and maintain a gravure press or multi-color offset press to print single-color, two-color, and/or multi-color work.
3. Review job specifications to determine the press setup according to the imposition of the run.
4. Perform all make-ready tasks associated with the type of press operated.
5. Make necessary color corrections and/or press adjustments prior to production run to meet and maintain quality specifications.
6. Clean, lubricate, and maintain the press, making minor repairs and replacing worn or broken parts as required.
7. Act as a leader in providing and promoting a safe and injury-free work environment.
8. Responsible for all aspects of the operation of the press and press crew.
9. Responsible for overall quality of the printed product.
10. Communicate information effectively with other crews and departments.
11. Coordinate make-ready process by reviewing job information, establishing make-ready plan, and assigning responsibilities to crew members.
12. Maintain a Preventive Maintenance Program for the press.
13. Other duties as assigned.

Shifts: 7pm - 7am/ 3 days on 4 days off rotating every 8 weeks

Sign On Bonus $1000 (distributed in monthly payments after meeting job requirements)

Minimum Requirements:

• Thorough knowledge of offset printing procedures, materials, specifications, equipment, and safety requirements.
• Skill to read and understand job specifications and knowledge of press capabilities.
• Skill to make precise settings of controls, settings, and adjustments.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• 5-8 years web press-printing experience.
• Knowledge of in-line finishing, die cutting, inserters, imagers, color and register.

Pay Disclosure Statement: The pay range for this role at the noted location is $26.80 to $38.15 per hour. The actual rate of pay offered may vary based upon education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift, and location. In addition to base salary, the total compensation package may also include a sign-on bonus, overtime, shift differential, and other benefits.
