RR Donnelley is seeking a motivated Press Operator for its Elk Grove Village facility. The role involves operating web printing presses, maintaining quality, leading press crews, and performing operational duties. RRD is looking for an energetic, and highly motivated team member to join our team of Press Operators at our Elk Grove Village facility.
The Press Operator will operate web printing presses to produce high-quality printed materials, maintain press quality, lead and direct the press crew, and perform other operational duties as directed by supervisors.
Responsibilities include setting up, adjusting, operating, and maintaining Litho Press, In-line double web press, Harris M10, and a mini web 6-color web printing press, or multi-color offset presses to print single-color, two-color, and/or multi-color work with critical color values and registration requirements.
The role involves reviewing job specifications, performing make-ready tasks, making necessary color corrections, maintaining and repairing presses, and ensuring safety and quality standards are met.
The shift is from 7am to 7pm, rotating every 8 weeks with 3 days on and 4 days off. RRD is an Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer, including Vets and Disabled individuals.
Qualifications include thorough knowledge of offset printing procedures, materials, safety requirements, and skills to perform operational maintenance and minor repairs. A High School Diploma or GED and 5-8 years of web press printing experience are required, along with knowledge of in-line finishing, die cutting, inserters, imagers, color, and register.
Special skills required include troubleshooting, mechanical aptitude, and physical ability to perform occasional bending, kneeling, climbing, reaching, lifting up to 50 lbs., and repetitive motions.
The pay range is $26.80 to $38.15 per hour, with additional benefits and potential bonuses based on experience and shift. All information is confidential in accordance with EEO guidelines.
