Job summary

RR Donnelley & Sons is seeking a Press Operator 2 for the Monroe, WI location on 2nd shift (Mon-Fri, approx. 3:00pm to 11:00pm). The role starts at $25.00 per hour with an additional $2.00 per hour shift differential.

You will set up, adjust, operate, and maintain press equipment, perform make-ready tasks, and ensure color accuracy and print quality. Candidates should have offset printing knowledge and strong maintenance skills.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of offset printing procedures, materials and specifications and safety requirements.
• Ability to read and understand job specifications to determine appropriate press usage and settings.
• Ability to perform precise settings and routine operational maintenance of equipment.
• Knowledge of maintaining printing pressure and equipment adjustments.
• Proficient use of micrometer to align printing plates.

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust, operate, and maintain press equipment.
• Perform all make-ready tasks such as mounting plates, installing cylinders, and aligning images.
• Make color corrections and press adjustments to meet quality specs.
• Clean, lubricate, and maintain the press; perform minor repairs as needed.
• Perform periodic maintenance as recommended by the manufacturer; other duties as assigned.

Job Description

Press Operator 2- 2nd Shift (M-F, approx. 3:00pm to 11:00pm) starting at $25.00 per hour, plus an additional $2 per hour shift differential premium!

• The position is responsible to set up, adjust, operate, and maintain a number of press equipment


• Perform all make-ready tasks associated with the type of press operated such as hanging plates or installing cylinders, examine plates/cylinders for imperfections and checks for correct positioning of images, prepping blankets, adjusting tension and register etc.


• Make necessary color corrections and/or press adjustments prior to production run to meet and maintain the quality specifications of the work


• Clean, lubricate, and maintain the press, making minor repairs and replacing worn or broken parts as required


• Performs periodic maintenance recommended by the manufacturer


• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Requires thorough knowledge of offset printing procedures, materials and specifiactions, equipment, and safety requirements and skills to perform assignments


• Skill to read and understand job specifications and knowledge of press capabilities to determine the most appropriate press usage, press settings and materials needed to run the job successfully


• Skill to make a variety of difficult precise settings of controls, settings, and adjustments, and to perform routine operational maintenance of equipment


• Skill inroutine operational maintenance and minor repairs to equipment


• Knowledge of the appropriate amount of packing pressure needed to obtain the proper printing pressure for the type of job being run


• Skill in use of micrometer to mount and align the printing plate correctly

Additional Information

Position Hours: 2nd shift (M-F, approx. 3:00pm to 11:00pm). Qualified candidates must be able to work afternoon and evening hours.There is a $2.00 premium shift differential.

Thepay range for this role at the noted location is $25.00 to $28.50 per hour. The actual rate of pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to: education, skills, experience, proficiency, shift, and location. In addition to base salary, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also includeovertime, shift differential, call-in, and stand-by pay.
