Job summary

OKAY Industries in New Britain, CT seeks a manufacturing operator to operate straight-side and gap frame presses up to 400 Ton, load coil material into feeding equipment, and inspect products to specification using calipers, micrometers and dial indicators. The role requires reading and following written instructions and procedures, as well as following verbal instructions.

This is a first-shift position (7:00 AM–3:30 PM) with occasional Saturday work.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and follow written instructions and procedures.
• Ability to follow verbal instructions.

• Clean and orderly.
• Mechanically inclined with standard hand tools.
• Good attendance.
• Some working knowledge of presses and coil feeding equipment a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Operate straight-side and gap frame presses up to 400 Ton.
• Load coil material into various coil feeding equipment - cradles, reels, etc.
• Inspect product to specification per supplied Inspection Instruction Sheets, read calipers, micrometers, dial indicators and other supplied gages.
• Lifting and positioning of coils into feed equipment, lifting of containers of product.
