Job description

2 nd Shift Press Operator
Automation Personnel Services is looking for a hard-working Press Operator for a company based in Decatur, AL. In this role, you will primarily be responsible for the operation, troubleshooting, maintenance, cleanliness, and safety of the automatic cycle hydraulic transfer presses supporting production. YOU MUST INTERVIEW FOR THIS POSITION.

Pay Rate:
$18.50 per hour

Schedule and Hours:
Sunday-Thursday 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM

Press Operator Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Remain up-to-date on the production schedule including identification of the size, style, and specification of can to be produced and perform immediate visual and dimensional inspection of cans.
2. Perform visual and dimensional inspection to ensure products meet quality standards.
3. Understand and operate control panels appropriately.
4. Operate and maintain D&I unit, trimmer/flanger, and finishing press in addition to repairing and replacing D&I ironing cap, sleeve, and pressure rings.

Press Operations Qualifications and Requirements:

1. Must have High School Diploma or GED.
2. Previous experience with mechanical equipment, machine operation, troubleshooting, hydraulics, and inspection/SPC highly preferred.
3. Experience calibrating and using necessary gauges, including dial indicators, micrometers, and various go/no go gauges highly preferred.
4. Must have the ability to lift 50 pounds and stand for 8 or 12 hours.
5. Background check drug screen required.
