Job summary

Collide, part of Propelis Group, is seeking a Printing Press Operator in Butler, PA to operate assigned printing press and produce printed materials across various jobs. 3rd shift is 5:30pm–4:00am, Monday–Thursday, with overtime as needed.

You will perform quality checks, direct a press assistant, and ensure safety and adherence to procedures. The role requires basic math, software familiarity, and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • No prior print operating experience required.
  • Basic proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications.
  • Basic analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management, & planning skills.
  • Basic verbal and written communication skills and ability to interpret data.

Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Printing Press Operator operates assigned printing press to produce printed product on a variety of materials using various colors as prescribed by job tickets or work orders.

Hours: 3rd shift 5:30pm - 4:00am (Monday - Thursday)

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Produces printed sheets per production order.
  • Performs quality checks and maintains required paperwork.
  • Directs press assistant to achieve production schedule.
  • Operates assigned equipment safely in accordance with company and OSHA safety programs and rules
  • Performs work in accordance with approved procedures and work instructions.
  • Monitors Quality Points at work station and records required data.
  • Reports quality and production concerns and issues to supervisor.
  • Cross trains on all work stations within department.
  • Conducts preventative maintenance on all assigned equipment according to the preventative maintenance schedule.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred
  • No previous Print Operating experience required
  • Basic degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications.
  • Basic analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills.
  • Basic verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning).
  • Basic understanding and application of mathematical concepts.
  • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients.
  • Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work with and influence peers and management.
  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting.
  • Possess a mechanical aptitude; ability to use a large variety of hand tools and basic knowledge of power tools, forklifts, welding equipment, and cutting torch.
  • Ability to work overtime as necessary.

PHYSICAL ASPECTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk, hear and see.
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold & heat, risk of electrical shock, and toxic or caustic chemicals.
  • The noise level in the work environment may be high.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay for this position is $20 USD hourly. Ultimately, in determining pay, we will consider the successful candidate’s location, experience, and other job-related factors.
