Job summary

SPR Packaging Rockwall is seeking an Experienced Press Mounter Assistant for the Night Shift (5:30pm–5:30am), Sunday–Tuesday and every other Saturday, or Wednesday–Friday and every other Saturday, in Rockwall, TX 75087.

You will evaluate press schedules, review specs, assist with mounting plates, maintain documentation, perform basic maintenance, and assist with housekeeping to meet AIB standards. The role requires lifting up to 50 lbs and a high school diploma or GED.

Qualifications

• General printing experience and a high school diploma or GED.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates press schedules and prioritizes mounted jobs.
• Reviews specs such as Work Order, Color Controls, Art Proofs, and Print Samples.
• Gathers and inspects components for mounting including sleeves, plates and proofs.
• Sets up mounter proofer for micro-dot mounting following procedures.
• Mounts plates ensuring proper registration.
• Completes and audits paperwork (e.g., Daily Production Sheets).
• Demounts plates after press production run.
• Cleans plates and stores them properly in storage system.
• Performs daily housekeeping in prepress and plate mounting areas to meet AIB standards.
• Performs basic maintenance on plate cleaner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Evaluates press schedules and prioritizes jobs needing to be mounted.
• Reviews specs such as Work Order, Color Controls, Art Proofs, and Print Samples.
• Helps gather and inspect components for mounting including required sleeves, plates and proofs.
• Sets up mounter proofer for micro-dot mounting following established procedures.
• Helps to mount plates ensuring proper registration.
• Helps fill out and audit paperwork. Examples: Daily Production Sheets.
• Demounts plates after press production run.
• Cleans plates free from all ink and foreign material.
• Stores plates in proper boxes and returns them to plate storage system.
• Manufacturing plates as required.
• Performs daily housekeeping duties in prepress and plate mounting areas meeting AIB standards.
• Performs basic maintenance on plate cleaner.
• May be required to work overtime to cover vacations, call ins or workload.
• Performs all other duties assigned.

Qualifications

• Must have general printing experience; and a high school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Lift up to 50 lbs.
