Job summary

InterFlex Group in Merrill, WI is seeking an Entry Level Mounting Plate Technician to mount printing plates on cylinders per customer specs. The role operates on the graveyard shift within a manufacturing setting, requiring accuracy and careful handling of each plate.

Responsibilities include translating layouts, setting up plate mounter, preparing/ applying plates, and ensuring proper mounting with tape. Strong math, reading a tape measure, and detail orientation are essential.

Qualifications

• Must be a high school graduate.
• Strong written and verbal skills and attention to detail/follow-up.
• Prior experience in flexographic printing is a plus.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Translate layout specifications into mounting requirements.
• Set up job using plate mounter.
• Prepare plates to be mounted (clean and/ or minor repair).
• Apply plates using correct mounting tape.
• Coordinate with shift supervisor to plan mounting order.
• Complete required forms and obtain signatures.
• QC: ensure mounting is correct and complete the job check-off.

The purpose of this position is to mount printing plates on cylinders / sleeves following customer specifications and company procedure in an accurate fashion so that press operators can achieve desired print registration and impression with ease and efficiency.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Translate written and computer generated layout specifications into the requirements for mounting plates.
• Set up job using plate mounter.
• Prepare plates to be mounted. (Clean and or minor repair.)
• Apply plates using correct mounting tape.

RESPONSIBILITES:

• Planning- Coordinate with shift supervisor to plan mounting order.
• Documentation- Complete required forms and obtain required signatures.
• QC- With the help of shift supervisor, make sure job is mounted correctly. ( Job Check-off )

Qualifications

• Ability to perform with meticulous attention to detail.
• Must be able to read tape measure
• Can work with very small tolerances. (In the thousandths of an inch range.)
• Must have good math skills.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
