Job summary

International Paper is seeking a pressroom assistant to safely and capably support press operators in all facets of the pressroom operation at our New Castle, PA facility. You will set up presses and upcoming jobs, assist during runs, and handle cleanup of plates, equipment, and rolls.

You will work under direction from operators to ensure timely completion and adherence to safety standards. The role emphasizes reading instructions, reporting, effective communication, and accurate measurement

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret written documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
• Ability to communicate effectively with peers and management.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure (Standard and Metric) using whole numbers, fractions and decimals.
• Ability to read a standard and metric tape measure.

Job description

Must safely and capably assist press operators with all facets of the pressroom operation. This individual must be willing to take direction from the operators, and handle these responsibilities in a timely manner. Duties include, but are not restricted to; set-up of the presses, set-up of upcoming jobs, assisting the operators during runs, clean up of printing plates and equipment, shop clean up, and roll handling.
