Qualifications

• Adherence to all safety procedures when operating machinery.

• Vision: close, color, depth perception and focus adjustment.
• Exposure to noise, dust, odors and oils.
• Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.

Job description

We are seeking a Press Helper to join our team in Commack, NY.

Pay Rate: $17.00/Hourly

Responsibilities

• Reads job orders and loads paper into the press
• Fill the fountains
• Cleans plates and print cylinders
• Performs daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance as required
• Keeps work areas clean and organized, maintains housekeeping standards
• Helps pressman with putting loads out of the press
• Speed loads press feeder
• Clean blankets, as needed

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• KBA sheeted press, 8 color & 9 color experience is required.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
• Must be able to read and interpret rulers, scales and other measurement devices
• Adherent to all safety procedures and guidelines related to operating machinery
• Superb attention to detail and product quality
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
• Regularly exposed to noise, dust, odors and oils
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure to meet tight deadlines

Physical Requirements

• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment (24-hour turnaround on product)
• Aptitude for mechanical operation
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Must be able to lift/move up to 50 pounds with or without mechanical assistance
• Excellent attendance and punctuality - accurately record work time on a daily basis
• Able to operate a computer and time clock machines
