Job summary

Thompson Pipe Group is seeking a Machine Operator to run various equipment in our Bakewell, TN facility. The position is full-time, on the 1st shift (Mon-Thurs, 6 am to 4:30 pm) with overtime and potential rate adjustments based on experience and DOE expectations.

The role entails pressing rings, setting up presses, checking quality measurements, and performing adjustments or repairs as needed. Safety and reliable operation are essential, with forklift and overhead crane training required.

Qualifications

• Must have a safety-first attitude.
• Be able to pass forklift safety course and overhead crane training.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and reliability.
• Flexibility for non-standard hours and good housekeeping.
• Able to lift/move objects up to 75 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Cut and shear metal to size.
• Tack metal strips with welder.
• Roll metal to the required roundness.
• Grind welds and finish surfaces.
• Operate flash welder and trimmer.
• Operate presses to adjust rings size.
• Load and unload materials on the line.
• Maintain organization at the workstation.
• Operate forklift as needed.
• Perform pre-operations inspections.
