Job summary

Thompson Pipe Group is seeking a dedicated Machine Operator for its Bakewell, TN facility. You will run specialty equipment, set up presses, and ensure quality as part of a safety-focused production team.

The role requires operating cranes and forklifts, adhering to a 10-hour day from Monday to Thursday, with overtime and weekend availability. A strong mechanical aptitude and reliable work ethic are essential.

Qualifications

• Must have a safety-first attitude.
• Must pass forklift safety course and demonstrate safe practices.
• Must pass practical and written overhead crane training.
• Must be familiar with machinery and possess a basic mechanical aptitude.
• Flexible for non-standard working hours.
• Must have good organizational/housekeeping skills and problem resolution skills.
• Must be able to lift and move objects up to 75lbs.

Responsibilities

• Operate a range of metal forming and finishing equipment to press rings and shape metal.
• Set up and change over the ring press as directed by supervisor.
• Monitor quality measurements and adjust machines as needed.
• Load and unload materials on the production line.
• Operate forklift to move products and maintain station housekeeping.
• Perform pre-operations inspections and routine maintenance as required.
