Job summary

Dalsin Industries in Bloomington, MN is seeking an experienced Press Brake Operator to perform safe, accurate bending operations and support quality and production goals.

Responsibilities include tool loading, setup per part drawings, EPICOR transaction logging, inspections with gauges, and adherence to safety and lean processes to ensure on-time, defect-free parts for customers.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; CNC experience preferred; required for L3 and Lead.

Responsibilities

• Operate press brake safely when lead or others have set up and validated quality requirements for a specific part.
• Maintain neat and orderly work area.
• Lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
• Log EPICOR transactions moving material to appropriate locations.
• Perform simple setups using part drawings and bend simulations.
• Read and follow Shop Loads and perform inspections with precision measuring tools.
• Document all Job/Routing/Quality procedures as directed.
• Handle material and packaging.
• Assemble, load, and maintain tooling, fixtures, jigs, etc.
• Perform EPICOR transactions logging in and out of jobs and recording quantity, complete, scrapped.

Job Summary:This position is accountable for performingpressbrakeoperationsand activities. Individualsmust demonstrateacore competencyrequiredthroughout the organization. These competencies include safety, quality, production, and behavior.

Level 1

• OperatePressBrake safelywhenlead or others have setup and validated quality requirements for a specificpart.
• Consistentlymaintaina neat and orderly work area.
• Mustfrequentlylift and/or move up to 50pounds.
• Perform EPICOR transactions logging in and out of jobs and recording quantitycomplete, scrapped.
• Performsimplesetups on Press Brake utilizing part drawings and bend simulations.
  • Set up/Observe ¼ inch rule. If not possible engage Lead or VSM prior tooperating.
• Reads and follow Shop Loads
• Perform inspections using precision measuring and gauging equipment.
• Perform and document all Job/Routing/Qualityprocedures as directed.
• Perform material handling functions including packaging.
• Assemble, Load and Maintain Tooling, Fixtures, Jigs, Etc.
• Perform EPICOR transactions movingmaterialfrom/to appropriate locations.

Level 3 (Includes Level 1,2, and3Requirements)

• Suggest ideas to improve job processes and inform VSMof suggestions.
• Provides adequate feedback to department manager when the job is not running within 15% of standard.
• Provides adequate feedback to Department Managers/Engineering by using M.E.C.R forms and notes on the routing.
• Working knowledge of punch and die configurations, tip radius and the effect on part geometry.
• Mustfrequentlylift and/or move up to 50pounds.
• Ability to read and comprehendinstructions, shortcorrespondenceand memos; basic math skills, working knowledge of computersystems.

Lead (Includes Level 1, 2, and 3 Requirements)

• Capable of training for complex and simple setups
• Capable of training EPICOR transactions
• Capable of training Safety and QualityRequirements

Education:

• Ability to calculate required tonnages and bendallowances.
• Ability to select proper toolingrequiredto form a part(Acute, Gooseneck, Offset, etc.)
• Ability to work ona varietyof material types andthicknesses.

• Sheet Metal Layout experience (Tangent Correction, Basic Bend AllowanceEtc.) Level 2 and up only
