Job summary

Hapman in Kalamazoo, MI is seeking a Press Brake & Roll Operator for the 3rd shift. You will ensure quality, productivity, safety, and housekeeping while operating press brakes and rolls on carbon and stainless steel per prints, and setting up tooling.

Ideal candidates have 2–3 years in manufacturing, can read blueprints, operate an overhead crane and forklift, and perform routine maintenance. Experience with Laser/Shear/rolling is a plus, with commitment to continuous improvement and on-time

Qualifications

Position: PRESS BRAKE & ROLL OPERATOR - 3rd SHIFT

The Press Brake and Roll position is responsible for the quality of work, productivity, attendance/punctuality, safety, flexibility, working without supervision, and general housekeeping. This is a 3rd shift position.

Qualifications
  • Dedication to excellence and a quality output.
  • The employee will have the ability to perform forming operations with Press Brakes and Rolls on carbon and stainless-steel materials per print.
  • The employee will have the skills for selecting and setting up proper tooling.
  • Must be able to perform quality measurements to ensure product is dimensionally correct and sign-off on the finished part specifications.
  • Perform routine machine set-up and maintenance.
  • General understanding of manufacturing principles and procedures
  • Read and interpret blueprints, lists of materials and routers.
  • Must be able to operate the overhead crane and all other lifting devices and tools including a fork truck.
  • Responsible for tagging and labeling of materials and parts.
  • Perform other tasks as required by the supervisor (experience with Laser and Shear roll operations is a plus)
  • The employee will supply all the basic tools required to perform the above operations
  • Experience: two to three years’ minimum experience in a manufacturing environment, and setting up and operating press break equipment
  • Experience with laser, shear or rolling operations.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
