Job summary

Activar Incorporated in Eden Prairie, MN, is seeking an experienced machine operator to ensure high-quality production of sheet metal parts. You will operate fabrication machines, align dies, inspect output, and assist with changeovers and setup to meet daily run rates.

Responsibilities include maintaining safe operations, following specifications, and coordinating with supervisors to address issues. Strong attention to detail and teamwork are essential in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Two plus years of experience in a relevant manufacturing setting.
  • Recent Press Brake and Press Brake Set-up experience.
  • Equivalent of high school diploma or G.E.D. certification.

  • Position work manually and align layout marks to dies, including changing dies as required per order specifications.
  • Make adjustments/align per order specifications on machines.

  • Review daily manufacturing functions and job orders to ensure awareness of requirements.
  • Obtain necessary materials and tools required to achieve expected run rates.
  • Ensure the safe operation of equipment.
  • Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • Report immediately to supervisor/lead/manager any and all problems, which may affect safety, equipment, tooling, and/or quality.
  • Maintain full working knowledge of all processes.
  • Ensure a clean and organized work environment.
  • Conduct himself/herself in a professional manner in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Understanding of all tools, gages, equipment, and other various instruments used to perform position.
  • Basic ability to understand blue prints, schematics, and instrumentation diagrams.
  • Skill in performing accurate arithmetic functions involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division; using decimals, percentages, fractions, and ratios.
  • Basic mechanical principles of machine setups, operations, and materials.
  • General knowledge of sheet metal fabricating and assembly practices.
  • Some knowledge with programming is necessary for operation and calibration.
Required
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Two plus years of experience in a relevant manufacturing setting.
