Join Our Team as a Press Brake Operator at Epiroc!

Sets up and operates power brake to bend, notch, punch, form rolls, arc, or straighten metal plates or sheet metal and structural shapes to blueprint or sketch specifications.

Work Type (Onsite)

This position will be based onsite at our Dexter, MI facility. This job opening is not eligible for immigration/work visa sponsorship.

Shift Timings:

2nd Shift: 2:30 PM-1:00 AM, Monday–Thursday.

Responsibilities:

  • Turns setscrews or bolts to fasten clamp bar that holds dies in position.
  • Turns adjustment screws to set specified pressure of ram and clearance between dies to thickness of metal, as indicated by calibrated scale or feelers.
  • Selects, positions, and aligns dies in machine ram.
  • Positions work piece manually or with crane.
  • Starts machine to lower ram or depresses pedal to activate ram that bends or cuts metal.
  • Sets stops on machine bed and repositions stock to run successive pieces, or to perform multiple operation.
  • May grind laps or burrs from edges of workpiece using a portable grinder.
  • Lays out or details layout on work stock from blueprints or templates.
  • May operate apron brake, which bends metal by forcing metal between movable apron and horizontal bending bar.

Knowledge/Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a machine operation position and 3 years in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Work involves a high degree of accuracy, and attention to detail is critical.
  • Safe work practices are expected.
  • Attention to detail is required.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to use hand and power tools.
  • Demonstrates the ability to follow/provide direction and work in a team environment.
  • Problem Solving Analysis.
  • Strong communication skills required, including the ability to clearly convey information, listen actively, and collaborate effectively in both written and verbal formats.
