Job summary

Forma-Fab Metals in North Carolina is seeking a skilled press brake operator to produce parts from metal using a CNC press brake, ensuring adherence to engineering drawings and company standards.

Requires 4-5 years of press brake experience, preferably Amada; duties include setting up tooling, loading programs, reading blueprints, and maintaining safety and quality. Candidates should lift up to 60 pounds and be able to stand all day in a fast-paced environment with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

Job description

Monday-Thursday 6:00 am - 4:30 pm, plus overtime as needed

4 - 5 YEARS PRESS BRAKE EXPERIENCE REQUIRED. PLEASE DO NOT APPLY UNLESS YOU HAVE PRESS BRAKE EXPERIENCE, PREFERABLY AMADA, BUT NOT REQUIRED.

Position Summary: Produce parts from metal, plastic, and other materials using a press brake, a computer numeric controlled piece of equipment that makes precision bends, punches, or cuts into materials per company workmanship standards

Essential Functions:
  • Select proper punches and dies based on material thickness and type
  • Set up tooling, load programs, and set machine parameters to ensure optimal performance of the equipment
  • Determine if tools are undamaged and in safe condition for use
  • Work in a fast-paced environment with fast-changing priorities
  • Keep the area clean and organized
  • Provide a great level of attention to detail and focus on the given task
  • Work with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency
  • Operate machinery used in the production process, or assist machine operators
  • Consistently produce a usable product that meets the dimensional specifications of the engineering drawings
  • Must maintain excellent attendance, and expect to work overtime if the need requires
  • Input and maintain data in ERP computer system/Global
  • Complete paperwork/job sheets required for the area
  • Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations
  • Assist in other areas as needed
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 4-5 years experience operating and programming press brake machines; Experience with Amada equipment is highly preferred
  • Solid background working with sheet metal
  • Knowledge of tooling and tool maintenance
  • Must show an aptitude for math, problem-solving and computer skills
  • Ability to distinguish material types including Aluminum, Steel, and Stainless Steel
  • Follow written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in an effective way
  • Configure bend allowance for sheet material (Not a requirement, but a plus)
  • Ability to read blueprints and a knowledge of engineered specified tolerances
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to read and follow instructions

Environmental Conditions:
  • Humidity level may be elevated during the summer months
  • Exposure to loud noise, at times

  • Able to stand on your feet for at least ten hours a day
