Job summary

FORMA-FAB METALS, INC. is seeking a skilled Press Brake Operator to produce precision parts from metal and other materials using a press brake. You will select tooling, set up equipment, load programs, and ensure parts meet engineering drawings.

The role requires 4–5 years of press brake experience, preferably with Amada equipment, and a strong background in sheet metal. Daily tasks include tooling checks, CNC programming, and ERP data entry to maintain quality and productivity.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Determine if tools are undamaged and in safe condition for use.
• Work in a fast-paced environment with fast-changing priorities.
• Keep the area clean and organized.

• Operate machinery used in the production process or assist machine operators.
• Produce parts that meet engineering drawings tolerances.
• Maintain excellent attendance and work overtime when required.
• Input and maintain data in ERP system/Global.
• Complete paperwork/job sheets required for the area.

Monday-Thursday 6:00 am - 4:30 pm, plus overtime as needed

Position Summary

Produce parts from metal, plastic, and other materials using a press brake, a computer numeric controlled piece of equipment that makes precision bends, punches, or cuts into materials per company workmanship standards

Essential Functions

• Select proper punches and dies based on material thickness and type
• Set up tooling, load programs, and set machine parameters to ensure optimal performance of the equipment
• Determine if tools are undamaged and in safe condition for use
• Work in a fast-paced environment with fast-changing priorities
• Keep the area clean and organized
• Provide a great level of attention to detail and focus on the given task
• Work with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency
• Operate machinery used in the production process, or assist machine operators
• Consistently produce a usable product that meets the dimensional specifications of the engineering drawings
• Must maintain excellent attendance, and expect to work overtime if the need requires
• Input and maintain data in ERP computer system/Global
• Complete paperwork/job sheets required for the area
• Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations
• Assist in other areas as needed

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• 4-5 years experience operating and programming press brake machines; Experience with Amada equipment is highly preferred
• Solid background working with sheet metal
• Knowledge of tooling and tool maintenance
• Must show an aptitude for math, problem-solving and computer skills
• Ability to distinguish material types including Aluminum, Steel, and Stainless Steel
• Follow written and verbal instructions
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in an effective way
• Configure bend allowance for sheet material (Not a requirement, but a plus)
• Ability to read blueprints and a knowledge of engineered specified tolerances
• Basic computer skills and the ability to read and follow instructions
