Job summary

Peerless-AV is seeking a fabrication operator in Illinois to set up and run jobs in the fabrication department, reading shop orders and ensuring quality. The role operates Monday–Friday, 5:00 am–1:30 pm, with overtime as needed.

Four years of fabrication experience and a High School Diploma are required, with strong measurement and tooling knowledge. The position supports production in a controlled ISO environment, with responsibility for documenting specifications and maintaining safe work

Qualifications

• High School Diploma
• Minimum of four years fabrication experience
• Must be able to set up and operate a wide variety of equipment
• Ability to use squares, tape measures and calipers for quality checks
• Quality control in an ISO environment
• Supervise and inspect operators work

Responsibilities

• Set up and run jobs in the fabrication department
• Read and interpret shop orders, drawings, routings and set-up sheets
• Verify correct raw material or work in progress material
• Bend stainless steel, mild steel and aluminum; determine tooling for bends
• Maintain quality and document in-process specifications
• Fill out paperwork and time clock reporting for work performed
• Report machine problems to lead or supervisor
• Produce prototypes and necessary inspection forms
• Stack and handle parts through fabrication
• Utilize 2, 4 and 6 axis back gauging
• Request tooling as needed
• Communicate with quality, engineering and product development
• Perform other duties as assigned
