Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Experience: 1–2 years operating press brake equipment or working in a precision sheet metal fabrication environment preferred.
  • Technical skills: Read and interpret fabrication blueprints and drawings; knowledge of CNC press brake operations and setup; strong shop math skills (geometry and trigonometry); experience with precision measuring devices (calipers, micrometers, gauges).

Responsibilities

  • Machine operation & setup: Set up and operate CNC and manual press brake machines; load and unload raw materials and finished parts; install tooling, clamps, dies, and punches; program and adjust machine settings, including tonnage and bend sequences; monitor performance and adjust to maintain quality.
  • Blueprint reading & fabrication: Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions; verify bend angles, dimensions, and production quantities; follow process control procedures for accurate fabrication.
  • Quality Assurance: Inspect finished products for defects and dimensional accuracy; use precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, tape measures); ensure parts meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Machine maintenance: Perform daily startup/shutdown, routine calibrations, and preventative maintenance; report issues and assist with troubleshooting.
  • Safety compliance: Follow OSHA regulations and company safety policies; maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area; wear PPE and promote safe practices.

Schedule: Monday – Friday 11:30pm – 8:00am.

Goodwill Staffing is a full-service staffing agency within Goodwill of Colorado. It offers temporary-to-hire and temporary day labor positions in the Colorado Springs and Denver areas, with opportunities through a variety of Clients.

The Goodwill Staffing (GSS) Operatives position consists of short-term employment opportunities that may become temp-to-hire positions. This role is typically indoors/outdoors and may involve exposure to loud noises, equipment, and a shop environment. The position is often physically demanding and includes walking, standing, twisting, bending, and moving heavy objects. The GSS Operatives position is customer-facing and represents the Client and Goodwill positively.

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Press Brake Operator to join the manufacturing team in Colorado Springs. In this role, you will set up and operate CNC and manual press brake machinery to bend, cut, and form sheet metal components to precise specifications. The ideal candidate has experience in a sheet metal fabrication environment, can interpret blueprints, and is committed to producing high-quality work safely and efficiently.
