We are currently recruiting for Press Brake Operator (1st Shift) at our Vollrath Co. Newport, MN location. The city of Newport is located in Washington County along the Mississippi River, southeast of the city of Saint Paul.

Vollrath’s Newport, MN facility focuses on manufacturing high-end custom fabrication equipment. From kitchen to the front of the house, Vollrath works every day to make our customer’s businesses and your personal experiences better, more efficient, and more inspired.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Perform daily machine startup and shutdown procedures on Ermaksan press brake with Air Bending Technology.
  • Prepare and run complex bend setups and forming operations. This includes custom punch/die change out in combination with required tooling.
  • Programming using all features of the press brake software.
  • Read and understand shop drawings and translate flat pattern sheet metal parts into fully formed parts.
  • Ensure production schedule follow through, as allocated by the Manufacturing Engineer.
  • Perform operator level maintenance and cleaning of equipment and work area in accordance with company standards and manufacturers machine recommendations.
  • Facilitate work-order paper flow in accordance with Company Standards.
  • Help with training of new hires on machine functions and Company Processes.
  • Check parts to ensure they are within tolerance and Company Standards.
  • Identify areas for process improvement and work closely with Manufacturing Engineer and other shop lead personnel to reduce cost and waste.
  • Any other duties assigned by management.

Qualifications

Required

  • Minimum one year of related press brake experience.
  • High School, GED, or equivalent diploma or education completed.
  • Ability to read blueprints and interpret them.
  • Understanding of machine mechanics and ability to perform multiple precise setups and adjustments per day.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to address issues effectively.

Preferred

  • One year working inside a custom fabrication shop.

Compensation

The starting salary range for this position is $49,920 - $60,320 per year. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes:
