Job summary

Community Foundations of the Hudson Valley is seeking a Press Brake Operator in Saugerties, NY. The role operates on 6am–2:30pm, Monday through Friday, with a full-time, temp-to-perm path. You will set tools, read drawings in ERP, and execute bending per machine programs.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, at least 1 year in manufacturing, and solid measuring skills using calipers and tape measures. Safety gear is provided and the job involves some lifting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year experience in a manufacturing environment. (Metal parts manufacturing preferred)
• Must possess good mechanical ability with using machines and tools.
• Must demonstrate the functional use of calipers and tape measures for measuring part dimensions.
• Must be able to use simple arithmetic to calculate tolerance ranges for each part dimension.
• Must be detailed oriented when following procedures.
• Must have the ability to regularly stand for long periods, walk, reach, stoop, kneel or crouch.
• Must be able to lift/move up to 25 pounds on a regular basis and up to 50 lbs. occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Setting tools and dies in position on the press brake according to work order instructions.
• Retrieving engineering drawings from the ERP system for reference.
• Retrieving raw material from stock as required by the job.
• Retrieving bend programs using the machine control panel.
• Executing bending steps as per the machine program.
• Recording labor hours spent and material used, by job, using the ERP system.
• Performing basic, in process dimension checks to ensure parts are within tolerance.
• Completing production orders as per the production schedule.
• Helping with auxiliary operations such as packing and deburring, when necessary.
