Press Brake Operator

Job Purpose: Operation of the Press Brake Machine

FLSA Status: Hourly Non-Exempt

Job Duties/Responsibilities
  • Independently set up & operate Amada Press Brake Machine
  • Ensure proper tooling and fixturing, report operation times, and interface with programmers, engineers, and team members for problem solving
  • Work within tolerances of ±.005” in sheet metal up to ¼” thick
  • Perform single and multiple setups on a single brake
  • Program and form parts at the press brake using blueprints within designated tolerances
  • Record inspection measurements using dial/digital calipers, protractors, and height gauges
  • Work with aluminum, steel, stainless steel, and copper materials
  • Follow assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, job travelers, facility procedures, and parts list
  • Maintain orderliness of products, equipment, tools, supplies, and inventory within fabrication
  • Position parts and subassemblies using templates or measurement readings
  • Report assembly, equipment, material, or quality problems to the manager
  • Complete preventive maintenance as scheduled
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by following PPE procedures and regulations
  • Document actions by completing production and quality forms
  • Contribute to team efforts and rotate through different processes or jobs as required
  • Operate according to company policies and procedures
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by management
Qualifications
  • Press Brake experience of at least 3-5 years
  • Recent experience with running, setup, and operation of press brakes; recent Amada press brake experience preferred
  • Experience with deburr machines, turret punch presses, shears, and hagers is a plus
  • Performed single and multiple setups on press brakes
  • Ability to read blueprints, dial, and digital calipers, and height gauges
  • Ability to form parts within ±.005” tolerance
  • Program dimensions off blueprints (preferred)
  • Experience working with aluminum, steel, and stainless materials
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good communication skills, both oral and written
  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds without assistance
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and analytical
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
