6AM City, LLC is seeking a Press Brake Operator for our Vista, CA facility to set up and operate press brake equipment in a fast-paced environment.

You will read blueprints, interpret work orders, and ensure parts meet specifications while maintaining safety and quality. The role includes mentoring less experienced operators and coordinating with supervisors to optimize production.

Job Title: Press Brake Operator

Job Description

Set up and operate press brake equipment to manufacture high-quality sheet metal components in an industrial manufacturing environment. You will prepare machines for production, ensure parts meet specifications, interpret blueprints, and maintain consistent product quality. This role suits someone with prior press brake experience who values safety, accuracy, and productivity in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate press brake machines to bend, form, and fabricate sheet metal parts according to production requirements.
• Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, drawings, and production specifications to determine machine settings and fabrication requirements.
• full production runs.
• Monitor machine operation throughout production and make necessary adjustments to maintain product quality and consistency.
• Inspect finished products using measuring tools and gauges to ensure they meet dimensional and quality specifications.
• Change tooling, dies, and machine settings as needed to support different jobs and production schedules.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and report machine malfunctions, defects, or quality concerns to the appropriate personnel.
• Maintain accurate production and material records, including counts, measurements, and job documentation.
• Operate forklifts and material handling equipment when certified to move raw materials and finished parts safely.
• Follow all company safety procedures and consistently wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and production-ready by following housekeeping and 5S practices.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and other departments to coordinate workflow and resolve issues.
• Assist in training and supporting less experienced machine operators when needed to promote team effectiveness.

Essential Skills

• Previous experience operating a press brake machine in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and production drawings accurately.
• Basic hand and power tool skills for setup, adjustment, and minor maintenance tasks.
• Experience working with sheet metal fabrication processes.
• Ability to use measuring tools and gauges to verify part dimensions and quality.
• Capability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety, quality, and productivity.
• Effective communication skills to work collaboratively with supervisors and team members.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience operating a drill press in a manufacturing setting.
• Certification or experience operating forklifts and material handling equipment.
• Comfort using various hand and power tools in an industrial environment.

• Flexibility to work an open-ended contract with the potential to extend or transition to a permanent role depending on workload.

Work Environment

This role is based in an industrial manufacturing facility with an open-air layout, where temperature conditions can vary and may be hot or cold depending on the weather. You will work on the second shift, Monday through Friday, with hours of 2:15 p.m. to 10:45 p.m. from Monday to Thursday and 1:15 p.m. to 9:45 p.m. on Friday. The position is structured as an open-ended contract with at least six weeks of guaranteed work and the potential to continue longer or transition to a permanent role depending on production needs. You will spend most of the shift on your feet, frequently lifting up to 50 lbs and working around press brakes, drill presses, forklifts, and other material handling and fabrication equipment. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is required at all times, and the facility emphasizes cleanliness, organization, and adherence to safety procedures.
