Job description

The overall objective of the CNC Brake Machine Operator, 2nd class position is to engage in all activities concerned with producing parts by operating a CNC brake machine, and ensure that jobs are completed and shipped as scheduled while meeting our quality standards.

1. Retrieving the parts list, and applicable CNC programs in order to create parts as needed per job.
2. Loading materials onto the machine in preparation for punch or break, and safely securing materials on the machine with the use of clamps, fingers or other fixtures.
3. Coordinating with the 1st class CNC Machine Operator to enter commands or make adjustments to machine controls to correct errors, especially while operating the break press.
4. Monitoring machines and control panel displays to ensure machines are operating correctly.
5. Using tools, such as calipers and protractors, to measure finished products to ensure they meet requirements.
6. Staging parts as completed in order to prepare for the next phase of fabrication.
7. Performing scheduled and repair maintenance of machines, as required. This also includes maintaining, sharpening and replacing tools, as necessary.
8. Maintaining a safe, clean, well-organized work area.
9. Perform necessary side operations during machine cycle time as required.
10. Training with 1st class CNC Machine Operators to develop the skills and learn how to operate both machines.

Must be available to work swing/night shift when assigned.
