Job summary

Amcor LLC is seeking an Assistant to support press line operations, including change-overs, startup, and ongoing production. The role emphasizes safety, quality, and adherence to customer and manufacturing specifications.

You will help set up jobs per SOPs and report any discrepancies to the supervisor, while ensuring materials and equipment are ready for the next job. The position requires previous manufacturing experience, basic computer understanding, strong communication, and teamwork

Job DescriptionWHAT YOU GET TO DOAssistants will aid in all aspects of operation of Press lines including change-overs, machine start-up, running and shut-down.Support operations in becoming World Class in all aspects of the business, beginning with Safety.Assist operator in running all jobs in accordance with customer specification, manufacturing specification, print specification, color folders and standard operating proceduresAssist operator in setting up jobs according to established S.O.C.’s (standard operating conditions), and to report and follow up on any discrepancies to the supervisorAssist operator in ensuring all printed material if free of defectsEnsure all jobs are run in accordance to all written specifications including manufacturing specs, customer specs, print specs, color folders and standard operating conditionsWork with press operator to minimize job change-over and down timeMake every effort to see that all materials such as inks, stocks, cylinders, cores, and aniloxes are ready for the next jobAssist and aid maintenance to get the machine back on line and productive.Work with the press operator, manufacturing specialist and press supervisor to understand and complete each level of the assistant training matrix on time.While also knowing and understanding the role in product safety.Comply with all 5S and WCM initiatives (Cross Training, moving to the work)All other duties as assigned by supervisor or managementPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Ability to lift up to 50-60 lbsWilling and able to stand and walk for an 8/12 hour shiftFrequent reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling, and twistingFrequent use of wrist and handsFrequent stepping up and down from platformsReasonable accommodations will be considered on a case-by-case basisWHAT WE VALUEPassion for Safety and following Safety ProceduresPassion for Quality and meeting Customer SpecificationsMust have a positive attitude that promotes the Amcor High Performance CultureFully aligned with the Amcor Core Values - Safety, Integrity, Collaboration, Accountability, Results and Out PerformanceInitiative – identifying what needs to be done and doing it before being asked to or required by the situationA team player with good communications skills and the ability to work independentlyWHAT WE WANT FROM YOUPrevious manufacturing experienceKnowledgeable and able to understand a computer and programsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsGood organizational and interpersonal skillsRequired to have visual acuity to perform visual inspection including the use of measurement devices and ability to identify and distinguish colorsAbility to interact effectively and professionally with others in a team environmentOur ExpectationsWe expect our people to be guided by The Amcor Way and demonstrate our Values every day to enable the business to win.
