Job summary

RRD is seeking a Press Assistant to prepare the press for a run by verifying job specs and setting up the press for each shift. This position covers the 3rd shift from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM, Monday through Thursday, in Wisconsin.

You will inspect fountain solution, ink systems and paper rolls, monitor paper flow, assist with make-readies and collaborate with press operators on maintenance and color control. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, 401(k) with match, tuition

Qualifications

Must be able to work in a team environment.
Experience in a printing environment preferred.
Experience operating various hand tools preferred.

Responsibilities

Prepare the press for a run by verifying job specs and setting up the press.
Inspect fountain solution, inking systems, rolls of paper and related mechanisms.
Maintain inventory of paper; record usage and spoilage on SPC report.
Ensure roll of paper is unwrapped, mounted and ready to splice.
Monitor paper flow during the run; install new roll when necessary.
Assist maintenance and press operators in preventative maintenance and repairs.
May assist with make-readies and adjust ink/solvent/varnish to match color as required.
Adhere to safety policies including handling hazardous waste and lockout/tagout rules.
Follow documented ISO Quality Manual processes.
